Who is watching, and why it is transcoding.

See who is watching on Jellyfin and Plex, and why a stream is transcoding. Pause, stop or message a session from your phone. You still watch in Jellyfin or Plex.

Who is watching

Each session shows the title, the person, the device and how far in they are. You also see whether it plays directly or transcodes, and why. The list stays live while you look at it.

What you can do

  • Jellyfin: pause, stop or message a session; libraries, users, devices, resume points and scheduled tasks.
  • Plex: stop a session with a message the viewer sees; libraries, on deck, devices and playlists.

Part of everything else

Discover's search includes Jellyfin and Plex, so a title's page says if you already have it. Home can show what you were halfway through.

Signing in

  • Jellyfin takes an API key, then asks whose watch history to show. Family members can sign in as themselves.
  • Plex takes a token, which already belongs to a user.

Questions

Is Cupola a media player?

No. You still watch in Jellyfin, Plex or your usual player. Cupola finds, requests and downloads, and shows who is watching, with pause and stop.

Does Cupola need a server or an account?

No. There is no Cupola account and no Cupola server. The app talks straight to your own services, and their keys and passwords stay on your device, in the Keychain or the Android Keystore.

My services are behind a reverse proxy with a self-signed certificate. Will it work?

Yes. Cupola asks once before trusting a certificate, then pins it to that host. Cloudflare Access tokens, proxy passwords and custom headers work too.
